Ten Past Seven - Blackbox tutorial - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 14, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
First off it's not load enough to work with headphones. You'll get a little bit of sound but not much. The thing to do is use a set of computer speakers anything you can get that has the small jack lead coming out of it. You could also get a cable to go from the box to a computer.

The little coin looking thing under the metal clamp is a microphone (it works better when clamp isn't too tight against the wood). You should be able to hear the direct sound from the mic without having a battery plugged in. Try putting inch long snippets of guitar strings in the inner clamp yokey (try hairclips, paper clips, springs, rubber bands....)

You need to pop a 9v battery into it go get the full on noises going. Once you've got the battery in flick the switch up. You may need to do a little bit of knob twisting to engage the circuit.

One pot(knob) effects the amount of times the echo repeats. If this pot is turned all the way up it will feedback and make a droning sound which is great craic. The other pot effects the distance between the repeat (delay time). I can't remember which one is which off the top of my head. I'll get back to you on that.

Thanks for getting in touch any questions don't hesitate to get in touch. I must do a video or something to explain how to get the thing up and running for the rest of the people who got the boxes.

Cheers,
Rory
