Please activate the HD function(720p) before watching the video or watch it with a larger type player in 480p! This in order to avoid serious sound distortion (as YT has reduced sound quality and does not activate HD or HQ playback automatically).

"Sahara" is an "oriental foxtrot" recorded by Bimbo der Tricktrommler (Bimbo, the magic drummer) and his orchestra in 1941. The period 1939/41 saw quite a lot of these exotic themed dance tunes : "Golfstrom" "Amazonas", "Marokko", "Wenn ich ein Schlangenbeschwörer wär" etc...

Bimbo der Tricktrommler or Ernst Weiland performed at Berlin's famed Scala variety theatre and made a number of recordings for Odeon....

In do not have much information on him, except that he was drafted in 1943 and died on the Eastern Front - most likely in 1944....

Another one of his records - "Komm und tanz" from the movie "Menschen vom Variety" can be found in my channel :

The flip side of "Sahara" is "FD79" and canbe found in the Dairyman716 channel

The video is an "oriental fantasy".... The pyramids are nowhere near the Sahara.... I know!
