This video is recorded February 12 in Tilburg (Netherlands) during the TOTO 2016 European/Asian tour.
Steve Lukather's performance here is magic with the legendary Leland Sklar on bass and Shannon Forrest on drums.
Steve Lukather is a great Jimi Hendrix fan and he performed Red House or Little Wing mostly during his live concerts.
This time he surprises everyone by playing "Bridge of Sighs", original recorded by Robin Trower back in 1974 at Olympic and AIR studios in London.
"Bridge of Sighs" was the title track of his second solo album (released in 1974) after leaving Procol Harum.
The album was produced by organist Matthew Fisher, formerly Trower's bandmate in Procol Harum. Acclaimed Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick was this album's sound engineer.
"Bridge of Sighs" reached #7 in the United States during a chart stay of 31 weeks. It was certified Gold on 10 September 1974.
Robin Trower's early power trio (with James Dewar on bass, vocals and Reg Isidore on drums) work was noted for Hendrixesque influences.
=== "Bridge of Sighs" lyrics: ===
The sun don't shine
The moon don't move the tides
To wash me clean
Sun don't shine
The moon don't move the tides
To wash me clean
Why so unforgiving and why so cold?
Been a long time crossing bridge of sighs
Cold wind blows
The Gods look down in anger
On this poor child
Cold wind blows
And Gods look down in anger
On this poor child
Why so unforgiving and why so cold?
Been a long time crossing bridge of sighs
