Theo Dahlem Telecaster Style Pickups Demo w. Stefano Ronchi & Andre Matov - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 14, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Take a listen to Stefano Ronchi & Andre Matov jamming w. Fender Telecaster guitars loaded with "Theo Dahlem Pickups". While we were doing demo recordings for each Pickup they're using I asked them if they would like to do some jam together. Both met each other for the first time, so this recording is a one try and go no bother jam. In this footage Stefano is using my personal 1967 Telecaster that I usually use for life gigs and for test riding my pickup creations. He plays it straight into a 1975 Silver Face Fender Vibrolux Reverb. Andre plays his "TE- AM 01 Broadcaster Style" set over a 1974 Fender Deluxe Reverb loaded w. a Weber Blue Dog speaker. Keep in mind that Andre uses his own delay pedal and that he is also muting his guitar with the tone pot. His sound is not necessarily representative for what this pickup usually sounds like when played straight into the amp. Except of Andre's pedals no other effects are involved in this recording.
Stefano Ronchi plays my personal favorite "TE-TD 05" Tele style pickup set in my pers. 1967 Fender Telecaster.
Both being serious session and live musicians they were looking for some well balanced pickups that were good for a broad range of jobs. I'm proud of having created them some pickup sets that help those fine artists to express their art in a way they want it.
Andre Matov is using my take of a Broadcaster style PU in the bridge position and a custom made neck PU in the neck position.
Enjoy.

As a general side note:
In every recording, unless on special request of the demonstrating artist I record my pickup demonstration videos with the most real tone I can get. I use commonly known popular amplifiers with a clean tone as a benchmark. If a pickup passes i.e. a Fender Princeton Reverb or a Vibrolux Reverb amplifier, then it can go anywhere from there. If you listen to distorted, overdriven pickup demo, IMO you won't never really know how the pickup in question may sound like at a low volume level. However, although I focus on recording clean amplifier settings, overdriven sound demonstrations may come up once in a while.
Have fun.
