I wrote this song after my dad died, and shortly after that, my brother. My mom was in such deep grief I didn't know how to reach her. But sometimes the only way to love someone going through a 'dark night of the soul' is to simply BE there for them--for the tears, the questions, the silence. The lighthouse seems to me a symbol of love that is safe, steady, constant...like home.
