Songwriter/artist/publisher Robin Welty didn’t choose music as a career. It chose her.

More than 7 years ago, Indiana-born and bred Robin obeyed the muse and moved to Nashville to explore her country and contemporary Christian songwriting roots. She soon affiliated with renowned publisher Major Bob Music, and recently that collaboration led to her biggest hit to date, “I Want You to Live,” co-written with Michael Dulaney. This moving ballad took country artist George Canyon to the top ten in Canada and earned nominations for Single and Video of the Year in the 2007 Canadian Country Music Awards.

As one of those talented people who lives with a soundtrack running through her mind, it’s fitting that Robin’s also found success in film and television. Notably, she contributed music to FOX TV’s new show Nashville as well as the soundtracks of Dawson’s Creek and the feature film The Joyriders, starring the legendary Kris Kristofferson.

Robin oversees writer relations for Ripcord Music Publishing. Ripcord Entertainment is an artist experience company, expanding how artists are experienced in a post record label world. A music business 2.0 company, Ripcord's mission is to multiply and monetize talent, in production, music publishing, literary, and branded events.
