DESCRIPTION:
When two classical guitarists first meet, there is an inevitable sense of sizing the other up, and even a bit of competition. With Brandon Dyke and Shawn Allen, all of that went out the window when one of them asked the other, "So, do you like Rush?"

Formed in late 2003, Spatha is a guitar duo on a mission to bring their love of classical music to audiences of all types. However they remain determined to break the boundaries of traditional repertoire, and their music incorporates elements of classical, jazz, Latin, 20th century, and even the occasional metal riff! Their concerts can range from Bach to Phillip Glass to Jobim, and their technical mastery and daring arrangements make for an exhilarating listening experience.

Their debut cd was released in 2005 to critical acclaim, and was given airplay on numerous NPR affiliates. They have since performed concerts throughout the country, and thrive on bringing their music to audiences outside of the traditional classical venues.

Currently they are preparing for a series of concerts(dates and times to be posted soon) and are writing new material.
