Making homemade records - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 26, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
More video of the home-vinyl-record-making process. Cutting and finishing the lacquer master, centering it in the tray ready for pouring, post-pour removing the mold from the tray and the lacquer from the mold, curing the mold in the oven, checking cast record for hardness and rigidity and removing it from the mold, test playing the cast record. Sorry I don't have any video of the pouring process itself.

Note that while the cast record was hard, it wasn't rigid - due to the ink versus the casting material used, it wouldn't cure 100% fully and was still a bit bendy and goopy. At least it all came out of the mold in one piece. The test record played isn't the same record, as you can probably tell from the colour.
