The song has been covered by a number of artists: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Huey Lewis and the News, Hank Williams, jr and others
The most successful cover became a big hit again for Charley Pride who recorded the song in 1979 for RCA Victor. It made it to the top of the Country Western Singles Charts.
