The song was primarily written by Otis Blackwell, but Presley contributed enough to the writing to get a co-writer's credit.
It first appeared on his album "Elvis" and reached #59 on the Billboard pop singles Chart.
It appeared on a number of other albums: most notably the "The Million Dollar Quartet Live Sessions" recorded in 1956.
Dave Edmunds covered the song in his 1986 album "I Hear Ya Knockin"
