Metis Girl - Keltic Jam Practise - Original - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 10, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Smokin Joe wrote this song on the long run from Wabowden to Winnipeg on Highway 6 which cuts through the heart of Manitoba. A loop dancer will often appear at a festive occasion dressed in traditional First Nations clothing and will spin loops around arms, legs and body while dancing to a rhythmic beat. The image was too powerful to escape Joe's lyrics. Wabowden is a Metis community. Some claim the girl is real but Smokin Joe cagily responds "I'm married and that's the way it is!"
