This is a cover of a beautiful John Gorka tune, the words from a poem, Letter to Saint Peter, written by Elma Dean about fallen soldiers in WWII, a prayer to St. Peter to take good care of our boys. Edwin McCain also does an awesome version of this song. This is my humble attempt at some alternate phrasings of the song. Would love to hear someone like Martin Sexton or Adele take a crack at a soulful, anthem-like version of this tune. It should be sung for all our fallen veterens.
