Sender/Receiver: Interactive performance with TIWWA (This Is Where We Are), TATE MODERN DIGITAL - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 04, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Mathew Emmett’s experimental sound performance for the opening of the new Blavatnik Building, TATE, London, connects us to an expanded sonic horizon, from the most primitive sublanguages, to the most highly digitally developed; in each case we are confronted by the same mysterious act of communication. This piece is part of the iDAT installation designed for the opening weekend for the new Tate Modern, 17-19th June 2016.

Emmett creates experimental architecture that challenges your concept of reality, shifting architecture to immersive events using video projection, live electronic performance and multi media installations. His experimental ideas in architecture question the relationship between space and event.

Emmett works with abandoned buildings to create Neo-noir experiences by combining fine art installation, video and live electronic performance. In 2018 Emmett performed Charles Darwin at the Atlantic Project with Kraftwerk founding member Eberhard Kranemann at the Millennium Building (known as the notorious Warehouse nightclub of Union Street which was a mecca for clubbers in the 1980's).
