Sending beats to labels / Is Sarah J legit? - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 19, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Why I don't work with Sarah J, in spite of having worked with her in the past:

1. She is not a manager. A true manager doesn't take production credit from her clients (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BYgtgthCQAAXoAL.jpg). A true manager takes a commission on sales. A true manager's incentive is making his/her client money and building his/her client's brand. Sarah J is concerned with getting her own name out there.

2. Sarah J charges for consultations, sells "No free beats" t-shirts and constantly tells producers to go out and "handle their business" while she gives away beats left and right. She has given at least 10 of my beats away for free without even asking me. When I have confronted her on it, she claimed it wasn't her responsibility.

3. Though she calls herself a manager, she does not help her clients with split sheets, contracts, royalty and advance negotiation, legal services, etc. As her tweet in the above video reads, she just "sends the beat."

Make your own decision as to who to work with and who to avoid in the music industry. I am just sharing my experience and opinion.
