We live in strange, strange times. Hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars spent to preserve or attain unimaginable power. Power of mythical proportions.

Big Bird is the biggest of birds, and the most lovable of birds.

This is my way of saying he should be left alone, and that PBS should be saved. It is also a lingering impression of my reaction to the first presidential debate of 2012. The debate was difficult to watch for a number of reasons.

I believe in America, and I believe in our cherished freedoms.
