Albany, GA - December 15, 2009 - There are many different ways to measure the success of an event. Of course the attendance, the economic impact, or its value to the community would be excellent places to start. By all accounts, the Southwest, GA Radio & Music Conference - Part 6 (ASU Homecoming College Town Block Party) was a success in every aspect. Friday night, the atmosphere was festive as more than a thousand people filled the Veteran's Park Amphitheatre. From 6:00 pm until 12:00 am, block partygoers were entertained by various musical artists including "Myko" of Outta Pocket Entertainment / Universal Music Group and several local radio personalities. Myko's Record Labal (Outta Pocket Entertainment) is owned by star NFL running back Thomas Jones of the New York Jets. "I am thrilled with the turnout and the level of support received by both the citizens of Albany and our City Manager, Mr. Alfred Lott," said Antonio R. Richardson, Sr. Marketing Director/Event Planner. "The partnership between Albany State University and the City of Albany has reached a new height this year and I am overwhelmed at the enormous response for this event. It is clear that Downtown Albany is headed in a new and exciting direction." Special thanks are extended to the Mayor, City Commissioners, Albany State University, The Downtown Merchants Association, Urban South Entertainment and Verseus Entertainment for making this event possible!
