----- Don’t be surprised to see this up and coming producers name in future album credits. Retro is one of a few great assets at 2Deep Productions, Black Tie Records, & Plug Label. Being compared to the likes of the legendary J Dilla, Premo, and No I.D., Retro has produced for a host of artist including Colby O'Donis, Paul Wall, Mistah F.A.B., Chico Debarge, AZ (The Firm), Knobody (Heiroglyphics), and the buzz worthy group The Tones, whose album entitled 'DREAMTALK' was produced mainly in part by Retro.
----- Retro’s R&B style is super soulful, sultry smooth, and undeniably appealing. His Hip Hop style of production is a little harder, but still maintains a smooth quality at most times. It’s also a bit more sample heavy where as his R&B is more melodic and more synth orientated. Retro uses the Ensoniq Asr-X Pro, Roland Fantom, Logic Pro, and an Epiphone jazz guitar to create his sound. His production style is so diverse it is hard to call him just a Hip Hop or R&B producer . “It’s not just hip hop or r&b, it’s soul music…music from the soul.” Retro produces music that defies genres and transcends generations, but simply put, it just flat out sounds good. Keep an eye out for Retro, this guy is nice!
