Reduction

The band Reduction was founded in early 2006. Founding members were Thrasher (Drums), Samis (Vocals), Norman (Guitar), Jens (Guitar) and Tristan (Bass). Samis and Thrasher startet making hardcore music in 2003 with the goal to create a never before seen beatdown style you might only know from the states. Norman, one of the Vocalists of the metalcore band FROM MY HANDS, joined them as a guitarplayer and the first project W.O.D. was born. The music was kind of really rough tough guy beatdown hardcore, mixed with oldschool influences. The members changed a couple of times as well as the Bandname itself. In early 2006 the perfect lineup was found and the band was is REDUCTION since then, though founding member and bassist Tristan left the band late 2008 with Moritz taking over the duty and Johannes from Gunned Down joined on Drums, replacing Thrasher, who left the band earlier that year.



Since the very first show the band got a really great feedback and because of scandalous shows like the "Headshot Festival" in Hagen (the whole venue turned into a big brawl and the band was forced to stop their show after 15 minutes) or Moshwars, REDUCTION became the number one gossip in the hardcore underground. The triple split with BROTHERS IN CRIME and FALLBRAWL is nearly sold out and the first T-shirts of the band were sold out within 3 weeks. After a little break REDUCTION returned in spring 2007 to continue what they started one year ago. A Full Length Album was released in 2008, which artwork only added to their "fuck everything" attitude. The songs spoke for themselves and the band gained more and more attention from fans as well as haters. Bad press equals good press and all the hassle only boostet the band to a new level of popularity they never knew before, topping in a furious show in Minden in early 2009. The most-talked about show sofar though is probably the Black Metal-Themed show in Duisburg in October 2008 to celebrate the addition of the new drummer.



Be prepared for an all out war and bone-cracking moshpits wherever this band turns up, a lot of fun, lots of talking between songs and the occasional costume on stage! The suicidebomber including a fake bombbelt was a hit.
