DESCRIPTION:
Track 2 'Gasikara' from the 2002 album Fanamby by Malagasy musician Rajery. He plays the valiha, a tubular harp. During a childhood illness Rajery developed a withered hand and during his teenage years while learning the valiha he created his own approach to the instrument, plucking melodies with his left hand and strumming with his disabled right hand.

In 1995, he initiated a festival for artists and athletes with disabilities in Madagascar, with some funding from abroad.
