Rajery is a living miracle and a musical genius. He is one of the best players of
the 'valiha', the bamboo harp from Madagascar. As well as this, he is also author,
composer, vocalist, choir conductor, sometimes percussionist, actor, festival
organiser, writer of musicals and the founder of his own valiha-school.

Rajery's first performance in The Netherlands took place in Hertme in 2006 and was called
a 'sensation' by the national newspaper 'De Volkskrant'. In this paper one can read:
"Quality in abundance in Hertme, but no-one came near the sensation caused by
Rajery. Accompanied by his with careless precision operating band, the little man
from Madagascar brought the public to a state of ecstasy with a perfect synthesis of
sophisticated court music and smooth jazzy funk. Rajery is a virtuoso on the valiha,
a traditional harp-lute which comprises a bamboo tube with steel strings along its
length. A physical handicap -- Rajery lost his right hand at the age of eleven months --
makes his skill on the instrument extra spectacular. The build-up of the performance
was also perfect: alternating sparkling and penetrating with a dizzying solo on the
valiha and a five-voiced song for variety, entirely a capella".
