Value Your Presence - Medley (Original) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 25, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
For this medley, everything was remade from scratch (except for the drums, which was reused from the original recordings). I didn't strive to making it sound exactly like the original recordings. Instead, I strived to experimenting with the creations and adding some things here and there. :-)

Also one interesting thing to point out that hit me recently: I noticed that all songs in the medley sounds pretty full like the original recordings, except for the first song "Dyke". This song is the only song where I used amp simulators instead of my real tube amp for all parts of the song (except the solo). As a result, the song "Dyke" sounds a bit weak in this medley.

What becomes evident in this observation is that I sometimes write songs based on the exact sound I get with the current set up. For instance, the song "Dyke" wasn't written by me noodling around on the guitar without any amp, and then choosing an amp. Instead, I just played around with amp simulators because I found that interesting, and then I intuitively played riffs that felt powerful with a particular amp simulator. Now that I play the exact same riff with my tube amp, it kind of doesn't work out as well. I find that really cool. Another good example of this is my song "Five Shades of Yellow" from my first album "Embody". I noticed that my telecaster had a certain sound that my strat didn't have, and then I wrote that song, completely tailored for the characteristic sound of the telecaster.
