Roots Rmx est une sorte de "label" ou plus exactement de partenariat d'auto-production entre 2 artistes de la scène Reggae Bisontine.

Pierre Beaupain et Thomas Jacquot ont eu depuis longtemps l'envie de se lancer dans la production d'arrangement de vieux tubes dans un style qu'ils affectionnent tout particulièrement le Reggae.

C'est avec le très célèbre titre Rhytm of the Night de la chanteuse Corona (qu'ils renommeront d'ailleurs Riddim of the Night, riddim étant la déformation de l'anglais rhythm provenant du patois jamaïcain), qu'ils entament leur projet dans un style early reggae/ska des année 60.
ils feront appel pour l'occasion à Loïc, jeune chanteur français faisant partie du groupe Mystical Faya.

Pierre Beaupain est un activiste de la scène reggae française, guitariste du groupe Unitone depuis fin 1999, il accompagne aussi des chanteurs internationaux avec le backing band Mighty Tone (dont le batteur, Jérémy Kouzmine a joué la batterie de Riddim of the Night).
Il se consacre également à la peinture à travers l'étude de portraits de musiciens qui ont influencé son parcours.

Thomas Jacquot est ingénieur du son / réalisateur au Studio le Zèbre à Besançon,
il est également bassiste, compositeur et suit fréquemment les différents groupes de Pierre Beaupain en concert et en studio.
D'un parcours musical très éclectique l'idée de réaliser des morceaux d'un extreme à l'autre est pour lui un défit qu'il aime relever avec passion.

Roots Rmx is a kind of label, or, more precisely, a self-production partnership between 2 artists from the Besançon Reggae scene.

Pierre Beaupain and Thomas Jacquot have long wanted to get into producing arrangement of classic hits in a style that they really like, especially Reggae.

It is with the very famous title Rhythm of the Night by the singer Corona (which they will rename Riddim of the Night), "riddim" being a corruption of the English word "rhythm" from the Jamaican dialect), that they are beginning their project in a 1960s early reggae/ska style. For the occasion they will call upon Loic, the young French singer from Mystical Faya.


Pierre Beaupain is an activist from the French reggae scene. He has been a guitarist for Unitone since late 1999. He also accompanies international singers with the backing band Mighty Tone (whose drummer, Jeremy Kouzmine played drums in the Riddim of the Night). He also devotes himself to painting by studying the portraits of musicians who have influenced his career.


Thomas Jacquot is a sound engineer / producer at Studio le Zebre in Besançon. He is also a bassist and composer and regularly follows Pierre Beaupain's various groups in concert and in studio. Since he has a very eclectic musical background, the idea of producing pieces from one extreme to the other is a challenge that he loves to meet with enthusiasm.
