Ironhand's circuit board test for our Nailgun Drumset (My Factory) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 02, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
This is a proof of concept video for Ironhand's fully automated nailgun / power tool / pneumatic drum set. (work-in-progress of course) Continuous midi data is streamed through a MIDI-OUT port into a Yost Engineering servo circuit interface, translating midi notes into kinetic energy, which will pull nailgun/drill triggers, activate circular saws, etc etc. Input is also recieved real-time from any midi controller, as shown with the Oxygen8 keyboard. The orange spinning things are tiny helicopter DF-09 microservos manufactured by Draganfly. These servos are far too weak for the nailgun drumset, but are great for testing. They will end up powering the Throat Prison animatronic microphone / vocal apparatus, another project in the works.

When complete, the Ironhand Nailgun Drumset can recreate all the mechanical sounds in our songs in real-time with stunning accuracy live on stage. Right now it's just a matter of time and money until sparks and metal will be flying at you at 666mph.

The song from the video is an remixed excerpt from "My Factory" off the album "The Sinner King", which you can download at our official website below:
