Peter Muller is a german bass player, composer and music producer. „Berlin Street Funk" is a track from his upcoming 3rd album „No Mind" The video is a collage of scenes which Muller took at the original recording sessions, as well as impressions from the city and a speedy car ride through the funkiest town in Europe!

Here's what Peter says about his track:

„Berlin Street Funk" is kind of a 70's funk tune beamed into 2014, with the bass straight in your face. A highlight for me on this track and on the upcoming album, was to work with the legendary Frank Mead and Tim Cansfield from London again. They have played with all the superstars in the last 30 years from Eric Clapton to the Bee Gees. Tim is surely one oft he funkiest guitar players on the planet, you have to put him in the same league as Nile Rodgers, Paul Jackson Jr., I was smiling and bouncing my head all the time when I heard the tracks we recorded. Same with Frank Mead on the sax, he's the most energetic sax player you can imagine -- in only 16 bars he can tear the roof off!

The idea was to use a lot of vintage gear on this track, so you hear a real suitcase rhodes miked up and a Hohner D6 Clavinet, both owned and played by the fantastic and tasteful Tobias Neumann. I'm using my old Fender Jazz Bass, slapping with only the neck pickup turned on, which gives a real oldschool bass sound. On the B-part I only use the bridge pickup with fingerstyle and double the line singing through a vocoder. I tried to design and loop a funky old school beat and finally my friend remixer Mr.T put a cool talkbox on the track.

The approach to the mix was to make it sound raw, analog and punchy but not "overhyped" - a good balance between old and new listening habits.

The video idea came up when I was on the way to the first recording session with Tobias in Berlin. I was listening to my demos again while driving and somehow I thought: „film it...! Film the streets and yourself, maybe it's good for a video clip." So I put the cam in front of me and the rest...just check it out! Hope you enjoy this track as much as we did playing it!"
