VANITY- by Proximity Butterfly (Reprieve) 虚荣(字幕) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 05, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Vanity
From Proximity Butterfly's most recent album, Reprieve. A story of a man trapped in the rubble of the Sichuan Earthquake that took as many as 200,000 lives. The band's studio shook for several minutes that day of the earthquake leaving friends and family dead. This horrible event inspired "Reprieve", released by Maybe Mars (Beijing) in May of 2012. The album reflects a complex series of dream-states, hallucinations, guilt, sadness and the overall experience of feeling lost and forgotten in a world larger than yourself.
Self-recorded (live), the video does a completely uncut live take of the song 'Vanity' and adds a confusing story of the woman that is Dr. Chen in a past life, dealing with the torment of her own mind, her fascination with death and the darkness that makes up her humanity.
