We spoke with jazz pianist, singer/songwriter Patricia Barber right after her July 4th 2015 Montreal Jazz Fest concert, about if she starts writing her songs with the texts or the music first, what's more fulfilling ; writing or performing ?, what inspires her to write and compose, a subject she'd like to write about but doesn't let herself do it, being outspoken,being banned for her lyrics, a song she wished she ad written, playing with Kenny Werner, whom she'd like to play with,new projects, where she thinks jazz is going, what she's listening to, classical music and jazz.
