DESCRIPTION:
From Psalm 136. The music is based on a 13th century anonymous melody. While we can't prove that St. Francis knew this tune, it seems at least somewhat likely that a 13th century Italian man as well-traveled as Francis of Assisi would have heard the melody played by a wandering troubadour.
