Enrico Caruso: His First and His Last Recording - and my own "mission" accomplished - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 26, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
When I started my Caruso Channel some years ago, I had no idea that millions of people would visit it. I just wanted to share my experience of the Golden Voice of Enrico Caruso with others.

Although I'm not fully sure, I may now have uploaded all of Caruso's recordings to YouTube. On my website I'm quite sure I have indeed made all of them available.

So this may be my last Caruso upload.... featuring:

The very first (preserved) recording Caruso ever made: "Studenti ! Udite" from the opera "Germania" by Alberto Franchetti. Recorded at the Grand Hotel, Milan, with piano accompaniment by Salvatore Cottone on Friday, 11th of April 1902.

And his last recording from Thursday, 16. September 1920: Petite Messe Solennelle: Crucifixus (Gioacchino Rossini).

I thank all YouTube users and friends for their support and for listening to the great voice of a distant past ...
