I'm Going Back Home (Memphis Minnie live cover) Mississippi Tea - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 22, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Lizzie "Kid" Douglas, better known as Memphis Minnie (1897-1973) was born in Louisiana and died of a stroke after a long and successful career. She was a hard-living, tobacco-chewing, guitar-picking blues woman who won the respect of her peers, music critics and the record buying public. She recorded this track in about 1930 with her then husband, Kansas Joe McCoy.

I play it here in open G tuning on a Continental Tricone resonator guitar, with the hard-living, tobacco-chewing and generally fabulous Kathie Taylor. This was recorded on 20th July 2013 at Sale Folk Club in Manchester.
