DESCRIPTION:
This audio recording with video overlay features The North Shore High School Band competing
in the 3rd Annual Sentinel Band Contest with Mr. Renee Garcia directing in Houston Texas.

I had my trusty tape recorder and sat in the audience to capture the performance. You can find the rehearsal for the concert in the previous video.

Band members listed below are indeterminate as the list is compiled from a Spring Concert a few months later in 1984. If you know of any corrections that you would like to see reflected, please leave a comment below.

The audio held up well considering this wasn’t digitally transferred until a few years ago. That was me in the audience with my tape recorder cheering on the musicians in our school who I looked up to as they were all chosen to be in the stage band because of their extraordinary talent.

The years I spent in band were very special to me, because little did I know, I would be transferred out to private school for my senior year where I was the "new kid" for what should have been the year I celebrated with the classmates I had known for 16 years.

I'm truly grateful for having grown up with the kids from the North Shore area from Kindergarten on through my Junior Year and to have the opportunity to share this wonderful piece of history with everyone!

This is dedicated to Sean Talbot who passed away in 1988 & Terry Benefield who passed away in 2009, they are both missed and remembered with love.

You’ll hear the announcer and the introduction, but it drops briefly to intermission music, although it picks up again with the announcement of songs to be performed with the list of soloists.
