Lift, gravity and drag form the basis for a musical and visual journey. Musicaerial is an event created by Frouke Wiarda. The kite is an artwork and the extra sense to hear the movements of the wind and the earth's sound. When balanced, the kite is at rest and is a still point of art in the ocean sky, humming the sounds of the universe. Sending a message from the earth up and out into the sky, the kite is sending back a new soundperspective of the earth and the wind.

I use the kite as an instrument to translate the 'inaudible' and the invisible windlayers into sound.

For this project, ten artists design an artwork which will be made by specialists into a kite. Ten composers and sound artists writing a music piece or improvisation inspired by the kites and wind's sound, it will then be live performed while the kites are flying.

Composers, musicians and sound artists: Christina Viola Oorebeek with Bart de Vrees, Danny de Graan, Dyane Donck with Tijn Berkelmans, Frouke Wiarda, Koen Kaptijn, Leon Spek and Nanda Milbreta (EST), Marije Baalman, Meri Nikula (FI), Nico Huijbrechts, Radboud Mens, Wilbert Bulsink with Het Nieuw Ensemble and ensemble Looptail, Wouter Snoei.
