down and fractured from a form
ever fleeting
caught inside a burden with a light
that is pulling me
torn down, diseased
while the decay of innocence
breaks and tears the soul
fading
in a time when seas part only to return

return unto me and take this body
cast out from the shore

no one left to relate to
nothing left to hold
i have become so withdrawn

there was a friend, a lover, a hope
beneath the mournful glow of our worldly sphere
and then there was a night when
it all fell apart from the decay of years

the violins then played a requiem as pain beget wisdom
the tears will dry, but i will never forget the funeral
