Nocturne for the Night of Broken Glass (short version) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 04, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
On November 8-9, 1938 the Nazi party committed a series of pogroms throughout parts of Germany, Austria and the Sudetenland targeted toward their Jewish citizens. Rioters destroyed 267 synagogues, vandalized and looted 7500 Jewish businesses and killed at least 91 people. Kristallnacht, also referred to as the "Night of Broken Glass" because of the pieces of broken glass that were left on the streets, foreshadowed the beginning of one of the darkest periods of world history, the Nazi holocaust, which would end with the deaths of over 12 million people, including 6 million Jews.
