DESCRIPTION:
Interesting facts about Margo's medley songs: "Heartaches by the Number" was written by Harlan Howard and published in 1959. The biggest hit version was recorded by Guy Mitchell on August 24, 1959. Earlier in the year, the song also made the country music charts in a version by Ray Price, reaching #2 and spent 40 weeks on the Billboard chart. Other artists who have covered this song include: Connie Francis, Buck Owens, George Jones (1961), Kitty Wells (1961), Johnny Tillotson (1965), Willie Nelson (1966), Waylon Jennings (1967), Jerry Lee Lewis (1969), Dwight Yoakam (1986), and Martina McBride (2005).

"Wedding Bells" was written by Claude Boone and first recorded by Hank Williams, Sr. (1949) with his Drifting Cowboys. Other notable artists that have covered the song are Hank Snow (1957), Marty Robbins (1958), Bill Anderson (1962), George Jones (1962), Dean Martin (1965), Stonewall Jackson (1966), Jerry Lee Lewis (1967), and Glen Campbell (1973).

"Jackson" was written by Billy Edd Wheeler and Jerry Leiber (1963) and first recorded by Wheeler. It is best known from the hit 1967 single by Johnny Cash and June Carter, reaching #2 on the U.S. Country charts and winning a Grammy Award in 1968 for Best Country & Western Performance Duet, Trio, or Group. Their version was reprised by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, performing as Johnny Cash and June Carter, in the 2005 film, "Walk the Line," and also appears on the soundtrack of 2011 film "The Help." The song also appeared on The Kingston Trio album "Sunny Side!" released in 1963, but since the dialogue in this version is between father and son, the lyrics differ slightly from later recorded versions. Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood released a version (1967), reaching #14 on the U.S. Charts that year, and the song was featured in Nancy Sinatra's 1967 TV special: "Movin' With Nancy."
