This Happy Birthday Fugue is written using the developmental techniques used used so successfully by J. S. Bach, although this melody is not a typical Baroque, Bachian melody. As Bach often did, in a 3-voice fugue, I dropped down to 2 voices in an episode or even for a statement of the subject. Then when the 3rd voice returns, it adds to the intensity.
