DESCRIPTION:
"Hot Tamale Baby", written by the King of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier. Performed by MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies, recorded LIVE in CONCERT for Mardi Gras at the Rosebud Theater, Effingham, IL, February 20, 2009, This beautiful, new, state-of-art theater is enriching the community by hosting wonderful entertainment never before experienced in the Region! MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies were honored to perform there.

Hot Tamale Baby is one of only two songs covered by MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies; all the rest are Red Hot MOJO Originals. They still perform Hot Tamale Baby because Floyd Soileau, Swallow Records, says MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies are the only band to record this song with Fiddle as the lead instrument.

This was a historic reunion concert featuring four of the original six Bayou Gypsies playing together for the first time since 1999 (Mister MOJO on accordion, Zydeco T Carrier on Rubboard, Eddie K on Bass, Kevin the Drummer on Percussion) plus drummer for the last 12 years, Tee John Moser, and brand new fiddler, Phil "The Thrill" Roach.

Audio is from the board, so you can hear the folks in the $100 onstage VIP seats and the rest of the audience through the onstage microphones... but they were GREAT!

Enjoy!
