The Nakamichi Has spoken with a Maxell "Capsule" Metal type tape, no dolby used. For an entry level Nakamichi deck, this thing sounds amazing. No equalization, you will notice that I make sure the graphic is set to "flat" before the track starts, I never use the EQ on anything but flat, for frequency display only. Nakamichi hooked up directly to 24-bit/96000khz soundcard.
