The Shir Joy Project takes inspiration from a variety of Jewish tunes and revamps them in a way that is relevant to today’s modern, urban Jew. 10 young musicians were given the task of recreating 5 jewish songs in 1 month.

This video was filmed at sunrise.

Mipi El is a Piyyut, or Jewish liturgical poem and it is said to have been written during Temple times. The song is most commonly recited at Shabbat and is a song of praise.

Louis Rubenstein was Canada’s first international figure skating champion, and a Montrealer. The citizens of Montreal remembered him fondly for his skating career, but also for his support of labour and his commitment to the city. The site of this video is by his memorial in Fletcher’s Field, now known as Parc Jeanne-Mance. - Info: imjm.ca
