DESCRIPTION: One of the songs from my youth, the classic "Sitting In The Park," originally recorded and written by the late soul man Billy Stewart. When I recorded this with John Watson (keyboards), Miles Danso (bass) and Derek Nash (sax), I asked Derek to add a punctuating horn lines that gave it a ska flavour, reminding me of my teen years selling ska and bluebeat imports to the newly arrived West Indian immigrants on Saturday mornings at Musicland on Willesden Lane! The song was also recorded in the '60s by Georgie Fame.
