Robert Mitchell's Panacea launch a new album and UK tour.
'THE CUSP' (EDN 1023) is released for download on 13Sept , and is in the shops on the 20Sept. This is the 3rd album from the band and the first on the fantastic Edition label. This is a beautiful collection of songs - from matters concerning acceptance, sharing , saving and celebrating us, birth/rebirth - and much more.The band contains musicians from Cuba, Australia and .the Uk and plays for the first time at the Pizza in this format. This tour is supported by Jazz services.

This is the 6th album from Robert Mitchell . Robert is also a Steinway Artist, leads and award winning trio (Robert Mitchell 3io - BEST JAZZ ALBUM - Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards 2009) and a has performed with a myriad of artists including Greg Osby, Norma Winstone, Courtney Pine, Quite Sane, Steve Coleman, Laika, Jhelisa , Ty, 2Banks Of Four, Dan Stern, Steve Williamson, Kaidi Tatham, IG Culture, J-Life, Jose James, and currently plays with Omar Puente, Deep MO (Yolanda Charles), David Lyttle, Ayanna Witter Johnson, Julian Ferraretto, (and soon) the great Ernesto Simpson . Robert is a judge on the Nottingham International Solo Jazz Piano Competition, has curated a solo piano festival (Lifting The Lid) , and has opened shows for Wayne Shorter and Branford Marsalis.

Robert Mitchell (Piano) and Omar Puente (Violin) have been receiving amazing receptions for their few international duo performances. Their debut performance in the Havana International Jazz Festival (2004) resulted in a TV programme being made about the pair for Cuban TV (A TODO JAZZ 2005).They have also performed to great acclaim in Singapore, Morocco and Belgium and the UK.Their debut cd - BRIDGES - contain originals from Omar and Robert ,and stunning violin+piano versions of fantastic music by latin music giants Chucho and Abelardo Valdez.
