Melissa Cox is a classically trained vocalist, guitarist, mandolin and ukulele player, looping performer, and lead singer of the Celtic fusion band Mythica. Her versatile style encompasses folk, rock, Celtic, World, Newgrass and electronic and was hailed as sounding like "a cross between Loreena McKennitt and Grace Slick" (Sing Out! Magazine). Her influences include Tori Amos, Led Zeppelin, Paul Simon, Sarah McLachlan, Porcupine Tree and Massive Attack. She has toured 100,000+ miles across the continental U.S., Hawaii, and New Zealand, won several national and local songwriting awards, published nine albums, and has shared bills with Smash Mouth, Spin Doctors, Sister Hazel, Three Dog Night, Catie Curtis, Tom Chapin and many others. She currently resides in Tauranga, New Zealand and performs nationally across the North and South Islands.
