Mechanical Separation began in 2003 as a three piece grind band from Saskatoon, Sk with Tizdale(drums), Steve(guitar), and Chad(vox). Shortly after, Sarah joined the band on bass and Cody replaced Chad.
In 2004, Mechanical Separation accompanied Vancouver's Neckbeerd and locals, Suckcess, on their Coast to Coast with no cash tour across Canada. We played a few more shows with such Canadian bands as Iskra, Massgrave, Head Hits Concrete, Kursk, Fuck The Facts, The End, Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis, Putrescence, Hellthrasher, Blacklisted, Poser Disposer, Godawful, Despised Icon, Cripple Crew, Tugnut, Self Rule, Life Against Death, Bury Whats Dead, etc.
In 2005, Mechanical Separation relocated to Victoria, BC, hooked up with local guitarist J-Rod(wink), and did a short tour of western Canada then recorded material for the Sanity's Dawn/Mechanical Separation Split cd. This would be the last material that we would do with this line up, as shortly there after we packed it in and took a 2+ year of absence with the band members moving to their chosen cities. Which brings us to September of '08.
After 2 years of relocating and members reforming and playing in various projects, Stevil : Skudfuck the Stripper, Tizdale : SnapleGrock - Suckcess - Rotundi - Axed up Conformist - Guy Surley - Obey - Bacterial Culture - Pornographic Amputation - Intoxified Decreation Steve and Tiz decided that it was time to rebuild the machine they had created together, so after scoping out the Saskatoon underground scene the two had asked Matt D (ex-Narcisistic guitarist), Dustin Gaja, and Simon Braun (Noodled - Antenna - Pornographic Amputation) to join them in completing the new line up for MS. All three being major supporters of the band since its creation in 2003, agreed to join the band on the condition that the music would consistantly evolve and move forward. On November 7th they captured their first live show together with the new line up on HDDVD (Mattz9), sharing the stage with Putrescence, Fuck the Facts & Impaled, and have since played with the likes of Faceless Hulk, Agonal, Exit Strategy & Cattle Decapitation et al.
