Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, in a way the predecessor of W.A.Mozart in Salzburg was already in his time considered as one of the most virtuoso violin players of his time. He composed this set of 16 sonatas between 1676 and 1681. Franzjosef Maier, one of the earliest pioneers on playing with period instruments, plays them all in a very expressive way in this beautiful Harmonia Mundi box. Enjoy!
