The goal was to interview a singer/songwriter that had changed my world, take photos of the places in Portland,OR that had inspired her to write the music and then to have a videographer document the interview. What I discovered, was a connection that I still can't explain. Which is probably because the story has just begun. Life is awesome that way. I had been a fan of Ali Wesley's long before I met her. Her music made me feel like I had a friend through some very dark December's... When I finally met her, I told her that she "sang my songs perfectly" :) Ali creates music from a place so solid and familiar that your heart breaks just a little, in the best way.

March of 2013 I decided to meet her. I wanted her to take me to the places she had written the music. Wanted her to show me what the lyrics to songs like "Chelsea Girl" and "December Never Happened" actually meant to her, because they had meant so damn much, to me.

What happened in that three days was an awakening of sorts. I dropping of all walls and flooding of new music that she powerfully sang in a private performance at her yoga studio.

I was never expecting this song, this song was like medicine. It made my heart burst and before I knew it I was weeping behind my lens just as hard as the Portland rain was falling. It's one of the best songs I've ever heard.
