Badfinger: Constitution--Perhaps the Best Guitar Performance in Rock History by Pete Ham - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 24, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Here's an absolute gem from Badfinger's highly underrated album "Ass." Constitution is a song penned by Joey Molland, but the real star on this track is Pete Ham. His lead guitar here is simply breathtaking and unlike anything I've ever heard before in music. His lead guitar drives the verses of the song, and he plays two blistering solos that would make Jimi Hendrix admit defeat. It's too bad the second solo (during the song's outro) was faded out and we don't get to hear it all.

I was shocked that no one else had uploading this song on YouTube. It's simply a brilliant song. I always considered it Badfinger's version of "Helter Skelter," or better put, what "Helter Skelter" could have been if only the Beatles could play guitar!

Give Molland credit for his great rhythm guitar here, as well as Tommy Evans on a great bass track and Mike Gibbins stellar as always on the drums. The four of them comprised what I consider to be the most underrated rock band of all time, and a band I consider second in greatness next to the Beatles only. If you haven't already, give Badfinger a listen.
