Coxy started playing shows back in late 2002 after sitting around playing the guitar all day realising it was finally time to face the world and get the music out to ears wherever possible.

In 2003 he released a debut EP titled Do it yourself as in reference to the whole solo thing. Only 100 copies where released and sold out.

After 2 years of playing 100 shows and open mic nights Coxy thought it was time to get a band together. Titled Love You Not, Coxy fronted the band on a short but successful journey. Love You Not consisted of founding members John Foley, Scott Quartermaine both now in blues band Lone Gone Midnight and longtime friend Graeme Kelly. Backing Coxy on stage since has been Rob Nassif (Gyroscope), Rob Stephens (Russian Winters), Adam Abrahall, Cameron Edwards (Calerway) Ben Cocker (Reserves) and James Watroba (Dirty Secrets).

Since his first performance as a solo artist Coxy has shared the stage with International Artist such as Kenny Vasoli frontman of Us band the Starting Line as well as East Coast Major Label acts such as Starky, Kiss Chasy, Trial Kennedy, Motorace, After the Fall, Airbourne, Horsell Common, Away From Now (rip), Lead Sketch Union and local Perth artists such as Gyroscope, Birds of Tokyo, Katie Steele, the Panda Band, Red Jezebel, Calerway and The Critics either on his own or with his band.

2007 saw the release of Love You Not the Urgency EP recorded by Laurie McCallum which received great reviews Australia wide.

2008 unfortunately saw Love You Not founding members John Foley, Graeme Kelly and 2nd drummer Adam Abrahall all deciding to move onto other interests. All will be greatly missed. They finished on a high though the las two shows as a band where supporting the mighty Birds of Tokyo. Justin Cox though cannot be stopped doing what hes loves best. Continuously playing as a solo artist. In late 08 he played a few shows with a backing band but for 09 its been all solo.

Justin Cox is halfway through recording his debut solo album. The end of 09 saw shows as a trio with Ben Cocker and Cam Edwards.
