There are choices in life
That a person has to make
Like who to spend your time with
And the chances that you’ll take
Come election time, the choices
Always seem the same
Vote for the Lesser Evil
Or refuse to play the game

When Dubya Bush was president
He was the worst, or so it seemed
Who predicted we’d face Donald Trump
In Twenty Sixteen
But even when Obama came in
On a wave of hope
As our country slid toward greater evil
He just greased the slope

Bush Senior bombed Iraq which
Clinton then maintained
After thirteen years of sanctions
Half a million lives were claimed
Then Dubya’s brutal occupation
Killed a million more
Now with lawlessness and drones
Obama’s waging endless war

CHORUS: What’s left of this democracy is rotted at the core
So whatcha gonna make your vote count for?

Neglected by the media
And feared by elites
The Green Party is rising from
The Movements of the streets
We’re learning of a different choice
To lead the United States
With no help from the Commission on
Presidential Debates

Greens alone stand for a vision
For what’s needed now that’s clear
Running only on renewables
Within fourteen short years
I can’t predict the future
But I see the way we’re bound
And I can’t support a leader
Who spreads fracking world-round

CHORUS

If we vote Green in November
The rich will try to make us lose
But they can’t stop us from standing up
For the principles we choose
Our votes show what we’ll stand for
Which is why I say we should
Reject the lesser evil
And vote for the greater good.
