Boston punk rock!

Pure impact was started in May, 2003 by cousins Ian clark and James Morrill. They had played in several different bands together including Union Made with James on drums, Ian on guitar/vocals, and then Through Censored vision with James moving to guitar/vocals and Ian moving to drums. Union Made played one show at the Salem Elks club and Through Censored Vision played a handful of shows on the North Shore, mostly at churches in Marblehead and the Gloucester art-space. A year or two down the road while hanging out they wrote a few drunken songs in Ians room. A couple of Ian's friends from the neighborhood; Chris elliot and Aaron Rendo we practicing as a two-piece band in a basement in Ipswich, MA. Soon they all got together in a dingy rehersal room on Boylston st underneath little Stevies pizza in Boston. They threw together a set of six originals and a cover and within 7 practices began playin the Boston club scene. Pretty soon Pure Impact had recorded a ten song album on local indie label Welfare Records. They then found themselves playing shows at CBGB's and playing with Oi! legends BLITZ, and headlining Boston venues like The Paradise. Soon after this, Chris Elliot is replaced by Matt Wall on bass. With Matt on bass, they solidified there sound even more and continued to write songs that they planned to record for a follow up to there S/T. They soon began debuting songs live like "Suburban Boredom", "Gotta Survive", "I'm The One" and "Searching". They eventually did record these songs at the Welfare Records studio's, but due to the engineers inexperience and the band's downfall (Matt had quit the band) they went on hiatus. Later on they added Pete Campbell to the line up and played a handful of shows around the Boston area. The EP they recorded never got released. Eventually things unraveled and the band decided to break up. Ian started Razors in the Night and James has recently started Stars Above. On October 16, 2010 they reunited out of respect for the death of punk hero Joe Zippo
