Few can say that L.B’s musical talents have gone unheard, infact, the 23-year-old emcee/songwriter from North-East London has begun somewhat of a global stir.
From the UK to the Southern Hemisphere there has been a buzz forming around his soulful Hip-Hop track Smooth which was released on Soul Control, the compilation album put together by Australian DJ Carl Alley in January 2007. The album was sold in music stores in both Australia and New Zealand and Smooth is still holding firm on many major DJ playlists in both countries. His recent appearance on BEN TV – Africa’s no.1 TV station, boasting a regular of 1million viewers – has allowed L.B to gain that international support many artists crave.
Back home in London, radio support from DJs at top stations such as Choice FM and BBC 1Xtra has gained L.B regular airplay. In addition, a hugely successful live performance at heavy-hitters in the underground radio scene has been instrumental in building on his UK fan base. And live performances continue to also be one of L.B’s main strengths. His polished showmanship and incredible presence means he is truly able to bring his lyrics to life and new fans are created every time he steps on stage.
So what’s next for L.B? In his own words: “I want to be a part of pioneering the reformation of UK Urban music that will continue for years to come”.
Currently in studio working on new material for forth-coming album/mixCD projects, L.B’s sound is one for the present and future, with soulful elements of the past. He takes his experience of everyday life and conveys them in a way that is both witty & entertaining.
