'State To State' is the new mix CD off the Hardwax imprint put together by 2 of Australia's most well known DJ's in the club scene. Peril and Carl Alley have both contributed greatly to their respected cities (Melbourne + Sydney) for 2 decades. Their longevity in the game is a testament to the hard work they have both put in to support the industry and continue to do so from putting on their own club nights to constantly performing across the country.
DJ Peril has been involved in the Melbourne Hip Hop community since 1983 from b-boying, graffiti, producing, MCing, promoting and much more. After the success of being a part of 1200 Techniques which included winning an ARIA Award he has since moved on to release his own album 'King Of The Beats' through his own Street Elite label which was received with great acclaim. Peril stays close to his roots running one of Melbourne's longest running club nights 'Soul Clap' where you will see him playing every Saturday night.
One of the most respected people in the local music industry, DJ Carl Alley (a.k.a. The Soul Controller) is humble to a fault. While his name is synonymous with Sydney's most successful and longest running club nights he refuses to put himself above another DJ. In 2006 he released 'Soul Control' his first mix CD through Hardwax and was personally requested to be a Mixmaster on The Edge 96.1FM. Carl is also known for his commitment to push local artists and this can be seen at his club 'XO' which has turned out to be a mainstay in the Sydney club scene every Saturday night.
Taking a different slant on other mix CDs in the market 'State To State' includes new tracks from major artists such as Chris Brown, Shaggy, Mims, Eve and Akon alongside upcoming local talent such as Israel, KillaQueenz, J Castell and Street Elite. Add to that some timeless classics tracks that still get love in the clubs and you have the makings of a great CD.
